How do key understandings regarding this component link to my product?
- In selecting the textiles to represent the kiwi and bure shapes of the puppet I needed the material to be sturdy in quality (eg cotton, linen) as it was going to be covering large areas of wood and would be easier to cut. It would also hold its shape better when gluing to the wood.
Textiles selected to represent puppet shape for their sturdy quality.
- The 3mm thickness of the wood created the ideal weight for the puppet shapes. I wanted the puppet to be very light in weight as it would be ideal for young children I encounter in my practicums to hold it themselves.
